Mireya Loza, curator at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, discusses the Bracero Program (1942-1964), the largest guest worker initiative in U.S. history. Loza's most recent publication, Defiant Braceros: How Migrant Workers Fought for Racial, Sexual, and Political Freedom (University of North Carolina Press), has been widely lauded as the most comprehensive and extensive historical publication on Braceros and the Bracero Program.
