Amanda Wolschleger is a doctoral student at Temple University where she studies music theory with Michael Klein. Her MA thesis research, supervised by Nicole Biamonte at McGill University, explored recontextualization as musical memory in Chopin’s mazurkas and culminated in a lecture-recital. She has presented her work at the Manchester Music Analysis Conference, the Edinburgh Music Analysis Conference, the University of San Diego Summer Colloquium, and the California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC). This fall she is volunteering for the International Paderewski Competition Studio & Reviews in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She currently studies piano with Jarred Dunn, and her performance practice informs her scholarly work. Other research interests include form, rhythm, and timbre in both Polish and Anglophone popular music. Amanda enjoys learning Polish, was a member of the Polish folk-dance ensemble Akademia Białego Orła in Montréal and currently dances with the PKM Polish Folk Dance Ensemble in Philadelphia.
