Join the College of Public Health for the first event of National Public Health Week: a discussion of the role of transportation in promoting healthy communities. Presenters include:
- Dr. Beth Pfeiffer, associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, will discuss her work on a peer-mediated transit training program that coaches people with disabilities to use public transportation effectively. The program then goes a step further and trains people on the autism spectrum to take their peers through the curriculum themselves.
- Dr. Gretchen Snethen, associate director of the TU Collaborative on Community Inclusion and associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, will discuss her work on ICAN:BIKE, a program designed to connect consumers of mental health services to the Indego bicycle share program.
