NEW DATE - On the Philadelphia Rowing Community: Dotty Brown and Boathouse Row

    Temple University Libraries
    boathouse row

We invite you to help us welcome Dotty Brown, author of Boathouse Row: Waves of Change in the Birthplace of American Rowing, published by Temple University Press, to Paley Library. Brown, an avid rower and former editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer, immersed herself in boathouse archives to provide a comprehensive history of rowing in Philadelphia in this beautifully illustrated book.

Join us as she discusses the fascinating history of rowing in Philadelphia, and the changes that ensued as various groups of different races, classes, and genders fought for access to water and the sport.

This program is part of the Libraries' Beyond the Page public programming series. More at library.temple.edu/beyondthepage.

This program is co-sponsored by Temple University Press.
