Dr. Jason Chein is a professor in Temple’s Psychology Department, directing the Temple University Brain Research & Imaging Center (TUBRIC) and leading the Control & Adaptive Behavior Lab (CAB Lab). He holds a PhD in cognitive psychology with a specialization in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and completed postdoctoral research at Princeton.
His research explores self-regulatory control (executive functioning) and its role in learning, problem-solving, decision-making and social influence. Using behavioral experiments, longitudinal studies and MRI imaging, his lab examines how distraction, emotion and social factors impact cognition.
Dr. Chein teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on cognitive psychology, cognition and neuroimaging.
