The Claire Smith Center for Sports Media at Klein College of Media and Communication is hosting its 11th Annual Sports Media Summit on Friday, Feb. 17.
During the event, attendees will have a chance to connect with top editors, videographers and leaders in sports media working in Philadelphia and around the country.
This year’s event will feature two keynote speakers: Jemele Hill, Emmy Award–winning former cohost of ESPN’s SportsCenter, 2018 NABJ Journalist of the Year, and author of Uphill: A Memoir, and Keynote Speaker Max McGee, KLN ‘15, ESPN SportsCenter anchor.
Between keynote addresses, attendees will break out into sessions hosted by:
- Hunter Brody, co-host, 97.5 The Fanatic’s Best Show Ever?
- Dan Koob, KLN ‘11, executive producer of Media/Content at Sporttrade
- Danielle Matthews, CEO of DM Creative House
- Lesley Van Ness, talent acquisition supervisor at Gray Television*
- And more!
*Lesley Van Ness will be critiquing student anchor/reporter reels in the breakout room. If you would like your reel to be reviewed, please send your video link to mrfine@temple.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Please note that not all of the reels will be able to be reviewed during the time allotted, but every student who sends in their reel will receive a notification about whether their reel has been chosen for the critique. Regardless of whether your reel is chosen, all are invited to join Lesley’s session to learn more about how to build a winning résumé reel.
Light refreshments for breakfast and lunch will be served.
