Join Philadelphia-based architect, historian and educator Miranda Mote for a hands-on botanical printing workshop on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Register for the program online here.
During the workshop, you’ll create your own botanical prints to take home using the trees from the Ambler Arboretum. We’ll discuss the changes to the trees and the campus since the storm and use the trees that survived as well as newly planted trees for our print-making inspiration.
Miranda Mote has worked as an architect, graphic designer and design instructor, and has studied the history of gardens, horticulture and agriculture as part of her master’s and doctoral training.
Since 2014, she has been interpreting traditional methods of nature printing and letterpress to publish original art books about early American gardens. Her historical writing considers traditions of nature printing, gardening and poetry in America and Europe. Since 2020, she has been developing a botanical literacy program integrating K–12 lessons in botany, expository and creative writing.
