This colloquim will feature Nora Gross's new book, 'Brothers in Grief', which examines grief and trauma in the aftermath of gun violence. The book spotlights the neglected aftermath of neighborhood gun violence and its consequences for racial and educational equity. Nora Gross examines how Black teen boys manage their grief afterlosing friends to gun violence and how school leaders and teachers balance theireducational mission with often incomplete understandings of students’ emotions.
