This information session will focus on how social workers partner with clients, co-workers, community members, and constituent groups to enact change on micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
The presentation will be rooted in social work's ethical principle of pursuing social justice. Discussion centers on the various ways in which social workers enact this social justice principle, the challenges that one contends with, and the importance of weaving in diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging into any social change effort.
This session will be facilitated by Dr. Cheryl Hyde, Professor and Chair of the Macro Specialization at Temple University. Dr. Hyde's teaching, research, and service focus on how social workers can and should engage in social justice initiatives.
