Temple Theaters Presents: Goblin Market

Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts

    Goblin Market

Book by Brandi Underwood | Music & Lyrics by Jesse Hamspch

Directed, Developed and Choreographed by Dylan Cole

    Additional Lyrics by Christina Rossetti

In 19th-century London, poet Christina Rossetti and her two brothers must navigate financial hardship and the loss of their father. At the same time, Christina struggles to break through the male-dominated art world while dealing with her own writer’s block. When tragedy strikes a newfound love, a dark romantic myth begins to be made manifest.

Presented as a brand-new musical created and composed by members of Temple’s Abbott MFA in Musical Theater Collaboration program, Goblin Market is a semi-fictionalized portrayal of the true-life events surrounding Victorian poet Christina Rossetti and her most famous work.
