The Department of Geography and Urban Studies has launched a new 4+1 with the Professional Science Master's in Geographic Information System (PSM in GIS)!
The PSM in GIS 4+1 is open to all majors!
What is GIS?
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is the software behind anything that combines data with maps. It is powerful data analytics software that allows you to ask any "where" question. If you've ever used Google Maps or Yelp, you're using GIS.
Because its uses are so pervasive, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that geospatial technology is growing at an annual rate of nearly 35% and is one of the top 20 high-growth industries from 2014-2024. Fields in the public and private sector that use GIS include business, health, planning, government, education, engineering, environment and more!
Why pursue the 4+1?
Get a jump-start on you career with a Master's in a high growth industry. The PSM in GIS 4+1 is a flexible program that complements many majors and allows students to take electives from a wide array, to best meet their interests and career goals. Students in the 4+1 can complete the program with as few as six classes in their +1 year.
