Let’s face it, some things in nature are just plain scary…or at least kind of icky. But just because something seems scary, doesn’t mean that it is!
All animals and insects, no matter how creepy or crawly, serve an essential purpose in their ecosystems and increase biodiversity!
Celebrate the Halloween season in a different way by learning about the science behind the things that may scare you — skunks, spiders, flies, rotten logs, bats, predatory birds and snakes just to name a few!
The Science of Scary is being held in partnership with the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion and the Barn Nature Center.
