Dr. Mary McKay, Neidorff Family and Centene Corporation Dean at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, will be visiting Temple University to close out this academic year's Dean's Seminar Series. Her talk will focus on the "village" of caregivers to help support the mental health of today's youth.
A social worker by education, Dean McKay has dedicated her career to public health-oriented research to improve the lives of children and families impacted by poverty. She has co-authored two books and more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. Dean McKay's most recent grant from the NIMH seeks to reduce gaps mental health service and research in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dean McKay has a number of prestigious awards, and in January, assumed a role on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare.
