conTemplum Presents Temple Composers Orchestra
Temple Composers Orchestra (TCO), now in its 11th season, is an annual student-run professional chamber orchestra that performs works by Temple's composition students. This year, TCO will premiere works by doctoral students, Ben Safran, Andrew Litts and Evan Kassof; Master’s students, Michael Shingo Crawford and Matteo Neri; and senior undergraduate student, Christopher Lazzaro. The orchestra consists of some of Temple's finest performers, as well as alumni and Philadelphia-based professionals. This year's performance is conducted by Evan Kassof, and is generously supported by the Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple Student Government, the Music Studies Department, and this year, for the first time, the Temple Performing Arts Center.
conTemplum is a Graduate Student Organization, and our mission is to create a community of musicians dedicated to expanding their musical horizons through the discussion and performance of contemporary musical ideas and the promotion of new works by Temple composers. We host new music forums, seminars, concerts and readings. We also attend local new music events and facilitate open discussion about what we encounter.
