Join us for this workshop with Mina Zarfsaz as part of Love Data Week. Data often needs interpretation for it to have a cultural value. Although data visualization is a common way of interpretation, this workshop will explore sonification as one of the new methods for perceiving patterns in data.

Mina Zarfsaz is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and system thinker who works across the fields of art, technology, philosophy, architecture, and design. She regularly works as a lecturer and workshop leader and her work has been shown in galleries including Magnan Metz Gallery (NYC), Azad Gallery (Tehran), Broadway Gallery (NYC), Icebox Project Space (Philadelphia), and Vox Populi Gallery (Philadelphia), to name a few. Zarfsaz was awarded the Leeway Art and Change grant (2017) and granted residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Icebox Project Space, Asian Arts Initiative, and most recently at the University City Science Center. She currently holds teaching appointments at Temple University, University of the Arts, and Rowan University.
