Process-Based Painting Workshop with Grace Rosario Perkins

Tyler School of Art and Architecture

In this workshop, participants are encouraged to use writing, personal objects (along with some provided objects), paint rollers, and extenders to create abstract biographical works. An art talk will present ideas from Grace’s work and also present inspiration from patterns in nature, texts, and other artists framing the power found in movement and abstract based work. All participants will work alongside Perkins to create small paintings, individually and collaboratively. There will be two uninterrupted segments of writing, as well as access to other mixed media processes such as screen printing, spray paint, and collage, facilitated by Perkins.
