The development of a professional identity, assimilating the values and ethic of a professional, is one of the key elements of healthcare education. This presentation and group exercise will explore the six psycho-social characteristics important to personal growth, maturity, and the provision of quality clinical care. Students will be asked to reflect on their own personal experiences related to each characteristic and to assess their level of personal growth in that area. Ultimately, the goal of this group experience is to identify potential areas of personal growth particularly as they relate to a career in healthcare.
