Asali Solomon is the author of the novel Disgruntled, which was cited as one of the best books of 2015 by The San Francisco Chronicle and The Denver Post. The short stories in her first book, Get Down, earned her a Rona Jaffe Founda-tion Writer’s Award and the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35” honor. Her work has appeared in McSweeney’s, The Kenyon Review, O: The Oprah Magazine, Vibe, Essence, on NPR, The Paris Review Daily, and the anthology How We Fight White Supremacy: A Field Guide to Black Resistance. She teaches at the Kimbilio Retreat and is an Associate Professor of English at Haverford College.
