The Department of Geography and Urban Studies has launched a new 4+1 with the Professional Science Master's in Geographic Information System (PSM in GIS)!
The PSM in GIS 4+1 is open to all majors!
What is GIS?
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is technology that combines data and maps with visualization and analysis. It is used to solve spatial problems, such as locating a new business, planning for sustainable urban growth, and understanding the environmental drivers of disease. The US Department of Labor considers GIS a high-growth field, expanding at an annual rate of 35%, with applications across business, health, planning, government, education, environment, journalism, and engineering.
Why pursue the 4+1?
The PSM in GIS 4+1 gives you a jump-start on you career with advanced technical training in a high growth industry. You can take up to 4 graduate level PSM in GIS courses as part of your undergraduate program, saving you time and tuition, and receive a technical graduate degree in less than a year. The program's flexibility allows students to pursue electives in their areas of interest, complementing majors across the university.
