Racial Equity and Health Policy

    College of Liberal Arts

Join the Temple Master of Public Policy Program and the Department of Political Science for a discussion on racial equity in health policy.

This event will be moderated by MPP students Jaelen Buxton-Punch and Cassidy Tarullo. This event is open to members of the Temple community, including students, faculty, staff and alums. We will discuss the role race has historically played in health policy as well emerging issues.

    Confirmed panelists include:

    • Congressman Dwight Evans, Pennsylvania's 3rd District
    • Dawn Holden Woods, Chief Social Services Officer of PHMC & CEO of Turning Points for Children
    • Lindsay Cloud, Director, Policy Surveillance Program, Temple Center for Public Health Law Research

In advance of the event, we strongly encourage all attendees to complete the Implicit Association Test from Project Implicit, which can be found here: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html. Click "I wish to proceed" and then select the "Race IAT." An understanding of implicit bias will provide a good foundation for this conversation.
