Trauma-Informed Supervision
Instructor: Sean Snyder, MSW, LCSW
The spirit of trauma-informed care (TIC) has taken hold in human services agencies, and implementation of TIC is an ongoing process. Supervisors become the conduit for organizations to transmit a trauma informed culture from administrators to clinicians and their clients “on-the-ground.”
This training will center on what constitutes the trauma-informed approach to supervision, focusing on SAMHSA’s four assumptions and six key principles of a trauma-informed approach. Particular attention will be given to the phenomenon of secondary-traumatic stress and the strategies that help with prevention and alleviation of these symptoms.
