Temple University’s Office of the Vice President for Research and SmartVentures recently established the SmarTemple™ Innovation Fund. SmarTemple™ is designed to provide venture capital and business guidance for the Temple University research driven startup community. SmarTemple™ adds to a growing portfolio of resources available for the Temple startup community to advance their inventions as outlined https://research.temple.edu/innovationfunding.
The initial phase of this program invited all Temple faculty and students to attend a 3-day program called Life’s a Pitch. Life’s a Pitch introduced the SmarTemple Innovation Fund process and provided an opportunity for inventors to make a pitch and receive guidance from a panel of experts. The next phase, called SmartBase, selected 12 companies to participate in the Spark Challenge. Spark Challenge is a 9-day program designed to bring this cohort of companies through the investment due diligence process that is integrated with a nine-day program covering vision, team, proposition, market, business model, investor deals and pitching.
On June 13th from 3:00-6:00PM in Shusterman Hall, Spark Challenge companies will make their final pitch to SmartVentures and its advisors in addition to invited investors from the community. In addition, we have limited seats available for faculty and students that would like to attend to hear these pitches and consider joining the next SmarTemple program round.
We look forward to seeing you at the SmarTemple Final Pitch Day!
