Join us for a conversation with internationally acclaimed author and feminist activist Dacia Maraini on violence against women and children. One of the most widely translated Italian writers, Maraini has published novels, essays, short stories, collections of poetry, film scripts, and works of investigative journalism. Her award-winning plays are staged all over the world. In the 1970s, she founded the first all-female theatre in Italy. Giving voice to silenced women, and fighting violence against women and children have always been a great part of her mission as writer and activist.
Co-sponsored by the General Education, Global Studies and Intellectual Heritage Programs; the Departments of FGIS, Sociology, and Anthropology; the Education Abroad Office and the Sbarro Health Research Organization.
