The Office of Sustainability is excited to announce an exciting guest and local leader in the slow fashion movement, Pennsylvania Fibershed. Are you passionate about textile waste and looking to learn more about circular fashion? PA Fibershed is a nonprofit organization connecting the fiber, textile and fashion communities in Pennsylvania to build a more sustainable, equitable and circular future for textiles and our environment through educational programming and industry development.
Through this session, led by co-founders Leslie Davidson and Rachel Higgins, attendees will learn about the history of PA Fibershed, the environmental impacts of the fast fashion industry and how to organize to grow circularity in fashion, here in Philadelphia and beyond. Our invited speakers will also highlight opportunities for further student involvement like the University Ambassador Program, which looks to build a coalition of campus leaders to raise awareness for sustainable fashion and extend the reach of PA Fibershed.
