Talk on Italian Fascism, Violence, and Colonialism

    College of Liberal Arts

Associate Professor of History at Syracuse University, Dr. Michael Ebner, will be giving a lecture with Q and A. Ebner's first book Ordinatry Violence in Mussolini's Italy challenged assumptions that Fascist Italy was less violent than Nazi Germany by exposing the deep institutionalization of violence in the fascist regime. His new project extends that examination of violence to the Italian colony in Libya. In this talk, Ebner will connect the two projects as an explanation of the everyday force at the heart of fascism.
