10th Annual Story Slam Hosted by the Narrative Medicine Program at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine
An event that brings students, faculty and staff together, to share stories, to entertain, to build community. The story slam provides an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary work we do, and to process the emotions we feel working on the front lines of American healthcare.
Story Slam Details:
Theme: ADVICE
Surely you have received it and given it. Maybe it was life-changing. Maybe it was awful. Maybe it came from a teacher, a mentor, a colleague, a patient, or someone you least expected. Maybe this story slam is just the inspiration you need to share some!
We are looking for storytellers
You can interpret this theme as broadly and loosely as you wish. It is an opportunity to come together as a community, to remind ourselves why we love medicine, why it can be so rewarding and sometimes so difficult. Our guiding principle: When people in medicine share stories, everyone is lifted.
Students, physicians, nurses, staff, researchers, therapists, social workers, and more across Temple Health are welcome to participate.
Every storyteller gets five minutes to share a story. We are happy to help you prepare. Our story slam is a great way to come together, reflect and share. Visit last year's Story Slam recap for additional inspiration.
Please register by October 1, 2022, by emailing narrativemedicine@temple.edu
Refreshments from Tierra Colombiana will be provided.
