The Temple University Jazz Ensemble performs at Dilworth Park as part of Center City District's Arts on the Center Stage series.
Featuring top undergraduate and graduate jazz students in Temple University’s award-winning jazz program, the Temple University Jazz Ensemble performs a wide array of jazz styles at the highest level. Emerging artists trumpeter Banks Sapnar, saxophonist Evan Kappelman, pianist Anthony Aldissi, bassist Dan McCain and drummer Ben Cohen play with the swing, soul and groove that are Philadelphia’s strongest contributions to jazz. They’re shaping their own sound based on the masters that came before them, with help from the incredible faculty at Temple University, including their coach, Dick Oatts, and Director of Jazz Studies Terell Stafford.
