Based on the banned 18th century play by Beaumarchais, Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro has long been recognized as one of the greatest operas ever written.
Underneath the dazzling farce, filled with mistaken identities and costumed hijinks, the comic opera touches on dangerous questions surrounding class struggle that no dramas of the day would dare touch.
These themes still resonate today in Temple’s high gloss production that peeks under the skirts of high society (and high fashion) while delighting audiences with some of the most celebrated music of all time.
