Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus is the story of a Zoom party not to be missed. It was hilarious when Eisenstein got his friend Falke drunk and left him passed out all night on a bench in the middle of town, all dressed up like a giant bat. Needless to say, the next morning Falke had to take the ultimate "walk of shame." That prank was several years ago and for most the joke is just a humorous memory...but not for Falke. For all that time, the humiliated Falke has been plotting his revenge against his friend through an intricate plot– one that is finally able to take fruition when the eccentric Prince Orlofsky hosts an epic Zoom ball. Brought into the era of online parties and the quarantine cocktail (recorded and presented streaming on video), this classic comic opera is a delightful tale of mixed-up identities, flurries of disguises, and way too many drinks.
