This workshop will introduce you to the basics of text mining, as well as the use of text mining for exploring library databases. Attendees will learn how to access Proquest's Text Data Mining Studio to analyze a large set of articles from their databases., including user friendly tools for mapping and creating data visualizations of text patterns. In addition, attendees will be introduced to other databases offering text mining services, including HathiTrust, JSTOR, and Gale, as well as the best practices for working with restricted data when conducting text mining.
