Maria Aracy Bonfim is Adjunct Professor of Literature at Federal University of Maranhão (Ph.D. in Literature and Social Practices at the University of Brasília). Her dissertation, Indícios no Insólito: Avalovara Através do Espelho (2015), comparatively examines the narrative works of Osman Lins and Lewis Carroll. Her areas of research include Brazilian Literature, with emphasis on Osman Lins, Erico Verissimo, Memory and Intertextuality. Professor Bonfim has co-edited four books about different aspects of Osman Lins’ works: Palindromia (SiglaViva DF, 2014); Quem Sou? (SiglaViva DF, 2016); Números e Nomes (SiglaViva, DF 2017); and Descortinando o Teatro de Osman Lins (2019). She is the author of Linha na Roca, Linha na Pauta – o Tecer da Memória na Obra O Tempo e o Vento, de Erico Verissimo (CRV, 2014). She currently serves as the Coordinator of Grifo – Literary Studies, Researcher in the Osman Lins Studies Group, and as Visiting Scholar at Temple Universtity (remotely) concerning the travel writing manuscripts of Osman Lins and their relation with Lins’s novel, Avalovara.
