The Life and Legacy of the Uptown Theater

    Temple University Libraries
    Uptown theater

In collaboration with the Uptown Entertainment & Development Corporation (UEDC), join us for a screening of Investing in the Vision: the Future of the Uptown, part of Scribe Video Center’s Precious Places community history series, presented in tribute to the late UEDC President and CEO Linda Waters Richardson. Together, we will learn about the history of the Uptown Theater and the resiliency of the surrounding community.

After the screening, the program will feature a conversation with Alfie Pollitt, local pianist, composer, and entertainer, and Fred Joiner, a member of the Uptown band. We’ll also be joined by Aissia Richardson, daughter of Linda Richardson, who will lead the conversation.

This program will be presented via Zoom Webinar. On the day of the program, use this link to join: https://temple.zoom.us/j/96034964414.

All programs are free and open to all, and registration is encouraged.
