William Egginton, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at the Johns Hopkins University, discusses Miguel de Cervantes' life, the world he lived in, and how his work--especially Don Quixote--radically changed the nature of literature and created a new way of viewing the world. This program is in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Cervantes' death, and will be followed by an open house viewing of Cervantes texts at the Special Collections Research Center.
This program is sponsored by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
This program is part of the Libraries' Beyond the Page public programming series.
