TU Comes to You: The Roots of Systemic Racism

    Alumni

We invite you to join fellow Temple community members for a lecture given by Dr. Aaron Smith covering the roots of systemic racism. Slave codes, Jim Crow laws, and red lining are only some of the racist policies rooted deep within the foundations of this country. Their painful legacy endures today as systemic racism continues to influence all aspects of life, from educational to financial to judicial systems. One of the first steps of fighting racism is to be educated on its history and acknowledge it exists in both obvious and discreet ways. We hope you will join us in learning more about the history of systemic racism, how it continues to shape our present, and how we can work together to combat it for the future. This important presentation is presented as part of the TU Comes to You webseries with the partnership and support of the Temple University Black Alumni Alliances Safe Space Series.
