Allyship is " an active, consistent, and arduous practice of unlearning and re-evaluating, in which a person in a position of privilege and power seeks to operate in solidarity with a marginalized group" (Anti-oppression Network, 2020). This Safe Space event is focused on the intention and the work of the non BIPOC community who want to be effective allies to those who identify as BIPOC. There will be courageous conversation about white privilege, centering people of color, decolonizing our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and doing the self-work necessary to be an effective ally.
