The Blockson Collection’s oral history project “We Recall, We Remember” kicks off Black History Month with a panel discussion featuring the stories of unsung African Americans Alfie Pollitt (Musician), Margaret Jackson (Educator) and Augustus “Windy” Lacy, Jr. (Retired Psychotherapist and son of Gus “Mr. Silk” Lacy) who grew up in metropolitan Philadelphia. In highlighting the collective life experiences of these three griots, the discussion will provide new insights on historic events in their respective genres/communities and their impact on subsequent generations.
