Temple University Harrisburg is partnering with Brittany's Hope, a non-profit aiding abandoned children worldwide, on a service learning trip to Vietnam, October 3 - 15, 2019.
This once-in-a-lifetime, service learning trip will take participants into the heart of Vietnam, visiting orphanages, training centers and communities who help those in the greatest need, with the opportunity for hands-on volunteering, working with special needs children, and helping to improve their lives and living conditions. Sightseeing throughout central and southern parts of Vietnam is also included.
Temple University Harrisburg has a rich history of establishing collaborative partnerships with community organizations and agencies; responding to the training and professional development needs of the community. This trip offers a unique opportunity to visit a country emerging onto the world stage, while participating in service learning working with society's most vulnerable citizens.
Brittany's Hope raises funds and works with international adoption agencies to lower the cost of adopting special needs children. In addition, they sponsor humanitarian efforts to benefit orphaned children, arranging for surgeries, safe cribs, formula, and education and transitional housing for older orphans.
