Created in 1915 in Madrid and created in 1925 in Paris, Love The Magician is considered one of the first Spanish ballets of the 20th century. Since then, the piece has become a jewel recreated and covered by many of the great choreographers of Spanish dance. In 2020, the artist-researcher and LGTBIQ+ activist Fernando López is invited by the conductor Asier Puga to propose an “inverted” version of Love The Magician, as a solo dance. In this project, López intends to deactivate the repetition of a ballet as well as the sex-generic models that seem to have remained intact in its different versions.
