This workshop will provide a brief history of virtual reality (VR) devices and explore current medical and medical education applications of the technology in use here at Temple and beyond! We will discuss the various iterations of VR throughout history, from the 1600s (yes, you read that right!) to current high-end and consumer-based systems. We will also explore modern health-related applications of VR, such as anatomical education, vision correction, neurorehabilitation, and fall risk assistance.
This workshop will be offered as a hybrid session. Participants can attend the online session via Zoom or in person in the Ginsburg Library Innovation Space. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link. This workshop will not be recorded, but a copy of the slides will be emailed after the workshop concludes.
Please email Nick Perilli, nick.perilli@temple.edu, with any questions.
Workshop is recommended for: Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, Temple Hospital staff, and community members.
