Temple University's Office of Sustainability is teaming up with the Clean Air Council to host a Walk Audit Certification Training Series for Temple University students.
What is a walk audit?
A walk audit is a way to evaluate the pedestrian experience in our communities.
Why do we do walk audits?
We can make our communities healthier and more sustainable when we better understand what is and isn’t working for pedestrians. Walking is an accessible, sustainable, and healthy transportation option. Improving safety within the pedestrian environment encourages more people to choose walking and rolling as a form of transportation, exercise, and recreation. By evaluating specific aspects of the pedestrian experience, walk audits can be used as the first step of advocacy efforts, and an effective organizing tool.
