Temple University's Office of Sustainability is hosting a Walk Audit Certification Training program this semester for Temple University students in all degree programs.
What is a walk audit?
A walk audit is a way to evaluate the pedestrian experience in our communities.
Why do we do walk audits?
We can make our communities healthier and more sustainable when we better understand what is and isn’t working for pedestrians. Walking is an accessible, sustainable, and healthy transportation option. Improving safety within the pedestrian environment encourages more people to choose walking and rolling as a form of transportation, exercise, and recreation.
Why participate?
- Connect with neighbors interested in protecting vulnerable populations and placemaking
- Learn urban planning and walk audit basics and gain a deeper understanding of what makes pedestrian spaces safe
- Gain tools to identify challenges and solutions to traffic violence and advocate for pedestrians and community needs.
Complete the app by September 19th by 10AM to participate. Fill out the short application today!
