The Temple University Military and Veteran Services Center mural is a series of photographs representing current Temple students and alumni who have served in the United States Armed Forces. While You Were Sleeping is inspired by the work of Vietnam photojournalist Larry Burrows, and was developed as a collaboration between Temple Alum and Army Veteran Nathan McChristy (MFA, 18), the Military and Veteran Services Center, and the Temple Veterans pictured. While You Were Sleeping represents just a small percentage of Temple University's military population and portrays individuals transitioning from uniformed service to servitude towards their communities. As Temple University continues to honor its military service members, look into the eyes and recognize the sacrifices they have made on behalf of the people of the United States of America.
