The Young Women Composers Camp (YWCC) is offering three online opportunities this summer in order to amplify the voices of women and ensure access to composition education during the COVID-19 pandemic.
1. Students who identify as female/non-binary can apply to take part in YWCC Online!
All YWCC Online students will:
Have two hours of private composition lessons
Attend private workshops with guests Gabriela Lena Frank, inti figgis-vizueta, Erin Rogers, and more!
Compose a new solo piece for an instrumentalist from the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) or Variant Six
Age requirements have been expanded to include students who are enrolled in an undergraduate program- any female/non-binary composer who is in high school or in an undergraduate degree may apply! Tuition is based on a sliding–scale income model, with a maximum amount of $350.
2. YWC Workshop Series: Presenting workshops featuring female/non-binary composers, artists, and entrepreneurs, this program is free and open to anyone without restriction! Our workshop series will feature presentations by Nina C. Young, Pamela Z, Kate Soper, Angélica Negrón, Vivian Fung, Gabriela Lena Frank, Aiden Feltkamp, Sarah Williams, Claire Chase, and more!
3. Virtual Choir Project: Participate in a premiere! Anyone who has a soprano or alto voice type is invited to video record themselves and sing our commissioned work by CREA composer Jungyoon Wie at our final concert. All submitted videos will be combined into a virtual premiere video recording. There is no cost to participate and no limit to the number of participants.
