ABOUT THE EVENT

The Bird Feeder Speaker Series reaches its finale on Tuesday, November 10 with Derek Walker, founder/creative director of Brown and Browner Advertising in Columbia, South Carolina. Walker will discuss the power of your portfolio, and how it can help or hurt a career. He brings his unique perspective, which has been shaped by a career in-house with giant brands like Pizza Hut and McDonalds, as well as experience at TBWA\Chiat\Day. Throughout his years in advertising, Walker has been a steadfast voice on diversity and inclusion in the industry, and will bring his voice and energy to Bird Feeder Speaker Series to share with undergraduate and graduate students this fall.

Klein College of Media and Communication’s Department of Advertising and Public Relations is hosting the Bird Feeder Speaker Series: virtual talks aimed to provide a place to gather. Rest. Throughout October and November, alumni and creatives will join Klein to explore topics and host discussions that feature a new way of looking at personal development and the advertising and public relations industries.
